About Marine Alliance

Pacific Marinelife Institute Marine Alliance is working in Australia and the South Pacific to foster marine research and conservation, support a range of co-stewardship programs and represent various marine industry stakeholders.

Alliance Membership is free and open to marine tourism operators, crew and associated marine industries. The Alliance supports joint industry consultation, cooperative representation and co-stewardship programs in key areas including marine research and protection, ecosystem rehabilitation, social responsibility, education industry best practice and responses to climate change.

The Pacific Marinelife Institute

Pacific Marinelife Institute is a private Australian marine research and education organisation. Taking a whole of ecosystem approach to its projects, the Institute supports and manages a wide range of marine research projects, community education programs and industry quality accreditation schemes. Orginially established in 1991 as the non-profit CFA Fishery Research Foundation by a group of game fisherman and crews, the now private Institute is involved in the monitoring and research of reef fisheries, mapping the biodiveristy of rocky and coral reefs, study pelagic fish species, implementing a range of eco offset programs and monitoring cetecean populations.
